Did you know …?

Spanish and English are two of the most widely spoken languages in the world—no. 2 and no. 3, in terms of native speakers. Imagine how much we have to share with each other!

But the difficulty of learning new languages can be a roadblock—making translators essential in forging intercultural connections.

That’s where I come in.

I’m dedicated to facilitating communication and understanding between English and Spanish speakers, through meticulous and innovative translation. I provide support for businesses and organizations that want to reach their audience in an authentic English that reflects their desired image: knowledgeable and trustworthy.

specialization

I translate a variety of documents in a wide array of subject areas, but these are my particular specialties—not only do I have an extensive background in these areas outside of translation work, but I enjoy working in these fields, which makes translating projects in these areas a win-win!

Latin American Politics, History and Culture

I earned my Masters Degree in Latin American and Hemispheric Studies in 2006 but I have never stopped studying. Through my work with various research institutions, intergovernmental organizations, and advocacy groups active on regional issues—most notably the Organization of American States—my education has been ongoing. This background ensures that your reports, articles, policy documents and other related content are translated accurately, using appropriate and up-to-date language and terminology.

Travel & Tourism

Through both work and personal experience I’ve had the good fortune to visit many beautiful countries throughout the western hemisphere. I believe these opportunities—meeting new people, trying amazing foods, visiting unique landscapes—should be enjoyed by as many people as possible, but there’s no denying that language barriers can be limiting. In securing high-quality translation services, travel agencies, hotels, restaurants, and other businesses in the tourism industry can more effectively spread the word about the amazing travel experiences available throughout Latin America—and I’m here to help!

Textiles and Fiber Arts

I began knitting in 2007 and things spiraled out of control rather quickly—at least in terms of the amount of yarn I acquired. I learned quickly and went on to build and manage my own micro-business creating and selling patterns for handknitters. Not only did it help me hone business and managements skills I use today in my translation work, but it also led me to develop a deep understanding of the technical language of knitting and fiber arts.
