FAQs

What forms of payment do you accept?

PayPal is the preferred payment method. I will also accept payment via personal check (for established clients only), wire transfer, Zelle, Venmo and Stripe.

Do you offer discounts?

Discounts may be offered to established clients—if you have multiple projects to be translated or a single document with a high word count, a lower per-word fee may be negotiated.

In addition, I offer some limited pro bono services solely for non-profit organizations, particularly those advocating for migrants and asylum seekers in the US

Do you translate into Spanish?

Most translators, myself included, translate primarily or solely into their native language to ensure the quality of the translation. In specific fields (primarily fiber arts) where my knowledge of the technical language is advanced, I will also translate into Spanish; in those instances a Spanish-speaking editor will review my translation to ensure it is grammatically correct.

What is the best way to contact you?

If you have a specific project you need a quote for, please use the form on the “Work with Me” page.

For general questions or other inquires, please email me at jancuktranslation@gmail.com

Do you use CAT tools?

CAT (computer-assisted translation) tools are used by many translators to streamline the translation process. This is NOT the same as machine translation—CAT tools use translators’ original work to create glossaries, identify repetitions and make the translation process more efficient.
I currently use Smartcat, a web-based CAT tool.
